This bijoux project will feed your passion for Egyptian music & dance.
Maximum of 15 participants.
If you have completed the JWAAD Music course or are thinking of doing it, this compliments and reinforces the content.
A project with Yasmina of Cairo and Kay Taylor designed to challenge and inspire.
There will be a range of music to choose from in consultation with Yasmina or Kay. This will be your solo piece which you will work on in advance of the project. Through the project, the group will work on each piece of music, the translation and it’s cultural context. Some music may be familiar, other tracks will be relatively unknown.
The group will learn 2 pieces of choreography – one with Yasmina, one with Kay. At the end of the week we will have a day with a tabla player creating a tabla finale – and time to rehearse it in the theatre.
The project will culminate in a show including your solos, 2 pieces of group choreography and culminating in a tabla finale.
