Description
The desert is not an empty space – it is alive, shaped by Berbers, North African Bedouins, oasis communities, and many other tribes. At first glance, their dances may seem similar, but their traditions, gestures, and movements tell very different stories.
The Bedou – often generally called Bedouins – still preserve their cultural roots today.
In this workshop, we will explore part of their history and experience how it is reflected in their dance.
Bedouin dances are grounded, powerful, and present, featuring strong leg and hip work.
You will learn typical movements, combinations, and connections between the desert tribes in dance.
